You’ll be out the door in no time each morning if you follow the latest makeup trends experts are touting for 2012.
The New York Times says the new look for the New Year is effortless, minimalist, just-out-of-bed-with-your-lover, according to leading hair and makeup artists. They say that stiff coiffures, overdone eyes, defined lips and matte skin are out. Tousled hair, smudged eyeliner, dewy lips and luminous skin are in.
The look is “coming home from the party,” not “going out to the party,” Terry Barber, director of makeup artistry for MAC Cosmetics told the NYT. “Perfection got slightly boring.”
So, just how do you achieve this look? Here are a few dos and don’ts. You also can click on the link above for more tips and info.
Do: Apply concealer and foundation to “naturally” cover dark circles or blemishes.
Don’t: Cake foundation all over your face.
Do: Use your fingertips to blend your makeup, especially eye makeup.
Don’t: Ring your eyes with liner; just use liner from the outer corners of the eye to the middle.
Do: Opt for a simple, natural hair style: a ponytail, a chignon or a messy bun.
Don’t: Wash your hair every day. Too much washing can strip natural oils from the hair.
